I have been part of Herbalife since September 2011. First as a customer, and getting such amazing results on the products got me interested in the business side of things. I never realised just what a ride it will be, and one thing I really want to mention is the personal development that comes with doing the business and helping people. You see, in order to go out and help others with a product and business opportunity such as Herbalife, you have to make a bit of a mindset change...
I always wanted to be able to help others, and I think deep down everyone feels like that - it just needs to be properly triggered in some way. My trigger was my amazing sponsors in the business - how passionate they were about the products and about the business opportunity. At first, I was their customer, and they really had my best interest at heart (and it wasn't just about the money!), and getting such good results with their help and guidance, it changed my whole outlook on life.
I was kind of a miserable chap to be honest - being overweight was one of the factors, and there were other factors too. But getting the results rebooted me, and got me into the mindset where I actually wanted to start helping others as well. My mindset was shifted once again, and I actually started making an effort to do a little thing called
Personal Development. As often as I can I try to listen to audio, or watch a video, or read a book in order to make myself a better person - to get my head in the right space, which in turn will help me be more positive, and ultimately attract positive people to me.
In the last few weeks I've been running a new body transformation challenge, and already we've had a tremendous response, and some great results! BMI - Body Mass Index - this is a number which is based on your height in relation to your weight. It is a fundamentally flawed method for determining if you're overweight or not. See this illustration below:
In this example, both these people have the exact same Body Mass Index. But clearly one is much better off than the other. The thing is, muscle weighs more than fat. And fat takes up much more space than muscle.
Out of interest, here's the formula for working out your BMI - but please don't use it as your only way of determining your health level:
Firstly, make sure you have your height and weight in meters and kilograms. For example, let's say you weight 70kg and you're 1.65m tall - so, divide your weight by your height, which in this example gives us 42.42 - now, divide this number once again by your height, which is 25.7 - this is your BMI.
But, and I want to reemphasize this again - do NOT use BMI as your only means of measuring your physique. Muscle and fat are very different!
A better way to determine your body composition is by weighing yourself on a Tanita Body Composition monitor or something similar. Those usually give you individual readings for at least Body Fat Percentage and Muscle Mass.

In October last year, my son finally joined this world. That means he's currently just over 3 months old. It is usually around this time that the parents return to work, and sit with the conundrum of either getting a nanny or putting your baby into creche.
When I look at my boy, my heart totally breaks at the thought of leaving him with strangers for a full day, only to come back from work, spending maybe an hour or two with him, and then putting him to bed.
